Nigeria’s most successful female preacher, Lady Apostle Helen Ukpabio, has described the tale flying all over the place that she was recently deported from the United Kingdom where she had gone for the propagation of the gospel as untrue and unfounded. Speaking exclusively to YES INTERNATIONAL! magazine on Thursday, April 24, 2014, the founder of Liberty Gospel Foundation Church (with over 250 branches scattered all over the world) stated that nothing like that happened. According to her, “All what you’ve been hearing and reading on the social media is the handwork of atheists. I was never deported from the U.K. I went to London (South East, London specifically) for a programme, did my programme and came back when I wanted. I travelled on the 4th of April and I returned on April 17th to do a programme for Bishop N.E Moses (of Overcomers Church) in Lagos. Nobody deported me, and people can confirm this.
“To be deported from anywhere, the immigration will first move the deportee to a camp and from there, he’s put on a plane and on arrival in his home country, you are handed over to your country’s immigration. None of that happened to me; I travelled when I wanted and also came back when I wanted”. So, what now led to the rumour? We had asked. The mother of three explained that the atheists were responsible. “They came to London to disrupt my programme – and they’ve been using one Modupe to spread falsehood about me. My lawyers have written to her and we shall soon meet in court”. Ukpabio, it would be recalled, has been having a running battle with the atheists. Not only in the UK, but also in her country. The matter became so messy at some point that she had to write a book cataloguing all their shenanigans. Now, they have come up with another funny tale – that she was deported recently from the U.K. A tale she described as very, very untrue and wicked.
