Another tragedy has just struck Nigeria’s film industry.
Popular Yoruba actor, Olumide Bakare, is dead.
He died many hours ago – and after a long and laborious battle with lung and heart diseases.
Widely known as Chief Koko because of his role in the defunct TV series, Koko Close, the man confessed to smoking and drinking for over three decades.
Bedridden since 2013, and repeatedly going in and out of hospitals, both in Nigeria and the United States of America, he eventually gave up the ghost at the University College Hospital in Ibadan.
Aged 65, he hailed from Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. At a time with NTA, he was blessed with four children ( Olabode, Oluwamayowa, Oluwatofunmi and Halimat) even though he allegedly had no legal wife when death came knocking.
