Viewers had a hilarious time on Tuesday on episode 8 of the now trending TV drama series, Professor Johnbull, broadcast on NTA Network, NTA International on Channels TV, and NTA on Startimes and sponsored by data grand masters, Globacom.
Guest appearance was made by ace comedian, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, who played the role of Dudus, the trouser-sagging cloth merchant who mesmerised Elizabeth (Queen Nwokoye), the Professor’s daughter, with his American swag.
In the latest episode entitled Happening guys, Elizabeth falls headlong for Dudus’ charm. His father warns her that Dudus’ trouser sagging style may be a sign of irresponsibility, but she is too light-headed to heed the warning. The raw, crude, unsophisticated side of the erudite retired university teacher is revealed as he emerges from the recesses of his house with a machete. Dudus runs for dear life.
In this edition, viewers saw that Dudus’problems continued after the machete chase. Elizabeth and Dudus eventually went out for their first date, and alas, Dudus could not pay the bill. His American charm was not enough to sway the local restaurateurs as he claimed he lost his wallet. Dudus walked away with only one foot of his shoes, and without his wrist watch.
This edition is hilarious, poetic and educative. Globacom, sponsor of the programm, urged those who missed the Tuesday edition to watch the repeat on Friday on NTA networks at 8.30pm.
According to Globacom, viewers will see how the linguistically endowed, self appointed community counsellor and sage, Professor Johnbull is able to attribute the complete humiliation of Dudus to his dressing style.
Professor Johnbull postulated that had he dressed more decently and gentlemanly without sagging, his explanation of lost wallet would have been more credible.
Some of those who watched the Happening Guys said it is one of the most creative , interesting, educational and satirical prime time show to come out of Nigerian television.
The drama which shows every Tuesday with a repeat on Fridays by 8:30pm on NTA Network, NTA International and Startimes, began eight weeks ago and has since received very positive reviews from all over the world on the social media, electronic media and in the print media.
