And guess what? He is President Muhammadu Buhari himself! Yes, Buhari just announced that he will head the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
He dropped the hint yesterday in New York, United States of America, during an interview. The President had been in New York for some days now attending the 70th United Nations General Assembly.
Said he: ‘I will serve as the Minister of Petroleum Resources myself’. It would be recalled that Buhari is not new to the Petroleum Ministry having served as the Petroleum Trust Fund Chairman during Gen. Sanni Abacha.
Also, this will not be the first time that this will be happening in Nigeria as former President Olusegun Obasanjo equally combined both during his administration.
Meanwhile, Nigerians are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the other ministers as promised by the President before the end of today. While many believe that his Special Adviser on Senate Matters, Sen. Ita Enang, who was part of his delegation to New York returned with the list days back, the Senate said it was yet to get same as at Tuesday, September 29, 2015.
Also, the Senate Spokesperson, Sen. Dino Melaye, has revealed that all the ministerial nominees will be properly scrutinized as the era of ‘Bow and Go’ has ended.
