There seems to be no end in sight for former Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke and her legion of troubles.
A Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 ordered the temporary forfeiture of a property belonging to her in highbrow Banana Island, Lagos.
The property was said to have been bought in 2013 for a whopping $37.5 million. Known as Building 3, Block B, Bella Vista, Plot 1, Zone N, Federal Government Layout, Banana Island Foreshore Estate, it parades 24 apartments, 18 flats and 6 penthouses.
Rent collected from tenants occupying the property totaling $2,740,197,96 and N84, 537, 840, 70 was equally ordered forfeited after being traced to Zenith Bank (1013612486).
Mrs. Madueke allegedly paid cash for the property – and soon after money exchanged hands, the former owner moved the money into his First Bank account in Abuja.
The case was adjourned to August 7, 2017 for further adjudication.
