A fresh dimension has just been added to the EFCC/Obanikoro palaver. Shalewa, daughter of the embattled former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, has joined the list of family members currently being asked questions by the EFCC. Hers was in connection with an alleged N800m transaction was traced to her.
YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine learnt that Shalewa, alongside her mother, Moroophat, were quizzed by investigators at the EFCC office in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The Obanikoros, according to EFCC, allegedly got N4.7 billion from Dasukigate. Already, the EFCC has declared the family’s partriach wanted. Alongside his two sons, Babajide and Gbolahan. The martriach also just got quizzed, alongside Shalewa, one of Obanikoro’s two daughters.
The N4.7 billion was said to have been paid to Sylvan McNamara, a company that belongs to Obanikoro’s sons. Shalewa is said to be a signatory to the account and allegedly caused N800m to be transferred from there, prompting the EFCC invitation and interrogation.
Interestingly, in spite of maintaining his innocence and alleging political persecution, Obanikoro, a former Lagos State LG boss, Commissioner, Senator, Ambassador and Minister, with his two sons, have continued to remain in America, where they are citizens, and refusing to return home to respond to the damaging allegations.
