Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and ardent supporter, Elder Godsday Orubebe, has been slammed with a four-count charge by the Code of Conduct Tribunal bordering on bribery and non disclosure of a property in Abuja. He will be arraigned on Monday, November 9, 2015. The charges were filed by Peter Danladi on October 8 on behalf of the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF.
Specifically, Orubebe who almost scuttled the announcement of the presidential results by the former INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, was accused by the CCT of failing to declare in his asset form a property on Plot 2722, Kyamu District, Abuja and also for accepting N70 million bribe from Pastor John Alota of Chemtronics Nigeria Limited prior to awarding him a contract.
Orubebe also contested the guber election in Delta State, before proceeding to Abuja where he functioned as a Minister.
