Toyin, wife of Mr. Steve Nwosu of The Sun Newspapers, who was abducted by some robbers who invaded their Okota, Lagos home around 2am on Monday, September 14, 2015 is so, so happy to be be back and re-united with her family and friends – after 3 harrowing days in her abductors’ den.
The pretty mother of four who was released at about the same time today has not been able to contain her joy. Amidst well wishers and family friends who have been swarming their home to rejoice with them, she stated emphatically that: ‘God is the ultimate!’ Expressing her appreciation to all Nigerians, but particularly those who stood by the family in their difficult moment, she prayed God to bless all of them. Going further, she urged those doing good to continue as there are always rewards for their good works. Just like her good works earned her, her freedom from her kidnappers.
For her husband, who is the Deputy Managing Director of The Sun Newspapers, it’s not yet time to go into the details of how his wife secured her freedom. However, he volunteered that he got a call from the robbers cum abductors, after a few calls and negotiation, telling him where to go pick up his wife and upon getting there, he found her. And like his wife, he too is happy and thankful and grateful to Nigerians – over the safe return of his better half and the mother of his children.
He declined comments on whether or not any ransome was paid.
