Total telecommunications solutions provider and Grandmasters of data, Globacom, is billed to power the 2016 World Pension Summit ‘Africa Special’ taking place in Abuja next week. The company’s collaboration with the summit is in the Diamond Partner category.
According to Globacom, the upcoming event is an international platform for knowledge sharing on issues bordering on pension and is scheduled to hold at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel on Tuesday, September 27 and Wednesday September 28, 2016.
The Summit tagged ‘Africa Special’ is a yearly specialized Summit for Africa organised in conjunction with the National Pension Commission of Nigeria. This year’s summit is on the heels of the first edition held in Nigeria in 2014 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Nigerian Pension Reform Act of 2004.
The organisers disclosed that the summit is themed “Pension Innovations: The African Perspective,” and is expected to be attended by finance experts, African social security and pension professionals and major stakeholders from around the world. Discussions will centre on “specific African pension innovations, key scenarios, and scheme developments. There will be presentations on global insights and best practices and these will be shared and discussed by renowned international experts,” the event organizers quipped.
Elder Statesman and former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, is expected to be guest speaker at the forum, while experts from the African continent and beyond will also deliver papers.

The company disclosed that it chose to collaborate with the Pension Commission to host the 2016 event owing to its shared vision of promoting a sustainable pension industry that will positively impact on the economic development of Nigeria. It added that the vision will also guarantee enhanced living standards for Nigerians and indeed Africans after retirement.
