Against all odds, Nigeria’s football team has won a bronze medal at the on going Rio Olympics in Brazil.
Nigeria’s Dream Team VI defeated Honduras 3-2 to register their name on the medals table.
Sadiq Umar and Aminu Umar made the victory possible, courtesy their goals in the 34th, 60th and 54th minutes. The first and the last goals were by Sadiq.
Nigeria, it would be recalled, had won gold medals in Olympics, football category, twice.
The Rio Olympics kicked off on August 5, 2016 and will run till August 21, which is tomorrow.
