He confessed being in love with Cynthia Morgan in this interview with YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine…
Tell us about yourself.
My name is Ron Solomon Maxwell. I’m a Ghanaian, though I was born in Nigeria. I’m an actor, fitness coach, model, dancer and martial artist.
How did you get to know about the Next Movie Star?
I’ve been following the show since 2011. It’s the biggest reality show for aspiring actors and entertainers across Africa.
How would you describe your experience in the house during the period?
It was an incredible journey. From the auditioning in Ghana to moving to Lagos; then to having the training and grooming sessions at Ikogosi in Ekiti State, to qualifying as one of the 16 house mates. It’s incredible.
What were the major challenges?
As much as it was fun and we had a lot to learn from one another, it was not always easy to live with people from different backgrounds. We had some quarrels and misunderstanding, but I’ll say the biggest challenge was working all day and having little sleep.
What was the craziest thing that any house mate did to you?
(Smiles) Craziest thing? I’d say when the food that was reserved for me was taken by one of the house mates. With the way we were working hard in the house, food was like gold. So, if anyone took your meal, that was painful.
Who took the meal?
Sorry, I can’t disclose that.
What was the craziest thing you did?
I was just surprised as to how quickly I could move from one task to the other, even if we had three or less hours of sleep. That was crazy to me.
What do you think gave you the edge over the other housemates?
Thousands of people were auditioned. 16 people were picked by the judges because they believed they had what it takes. Any one of us could have emerged the winner. I will say it’s my versatility that helped me to win. I’m very good in acting; I’m a dancer and a martial artist. In the house, I took the house mates through aerobics every morning. So, I was constantly in the eyes of the judges and the viewers.
Where lies your strength?
My talent, my versatility, my people skill and my personality. I’m a hard worker. I’m very humble because I know the family I came from. All my life, I’ve been in entertainment; from dancing in music videos to choreographing stage and video performances and to acting in movies. This industry is where I’ve always wanted to be, so I trained in acting, singing, dancing and martial arts. I’m ready.
Who do you admire most among the array of Nollywood stars in Nigeria?
All of them. It will be an honour to work with every hard working actor already in the business.
Among the female artistes, who do you have a crush on?
I think I have a crush on Cynthia Morgan.
Why Cynthia Morgan?
I like her voice and her looks and her style of music is something I really fancy.
Have you thought about the challenges of stardom?
Yes! Stardom is not easy. Nothing is ever easy. But actually, it’s staying at the top of your game that’s the most challenging. I know what I’m about and I have a good team behind me, so it’s all good.
How do you intend to deal with scandals?
The thing is, it’s not everyone that tries to be in scandals. Sometimes you don’t even know what’s happening. I’ll just be careful with certain things.
Things like?
Watch where I go, watch what I say, how I talk and so on. You know stuff like that?
Which role can’t you act for money?
Ha… That one is very personal. I’m versatile. I can play any role. As long as the script is good, I can play any role given to me.
How would you describe your first sex experience?
That’s very private.
How would you describe your ideal woman?
My ideal woman has to be smart, humble, industrious, prayerful, understanding, beautiful and of course, she should know how to make fun.
So, what are you working on presently?
I have a couple of projects coming up at the moment and few scripts from Ghana. I’m not allowed to disclose the titles yet, but you will definitely know before it comes out.
