He is the youngest and current winner of Project Fame West Africa. Winning at 18 years of age, the native of Ibaji, Kogi, Jeffrey Akoh, has been doing well since his debut. In an E! Blitz interview with Zeal Obazei, on December 3, 2015, he talks about refining his brand, career, and celebrity crush.
Did you always know you would be a singer?
I always knew I was going to be a singer because I grew up singing. I always had a passion for music.
How was it like working with Yemi Alade on her Kissing remix?
My remix with Yemi was wonderful. She is humble and of good cheer. It was a remarkable experience working with her.
Who is your idol in music?
Chris Brown.
What is your genre of music now?
I don’t want to limit myself or be structured by genre. I’m just an artiste and entertainer, so I am able to do any kind of music.
Are you planning on releasing another single or an album?
Yes, definitely! I am planning to release singles and then an album.
Would you like to work with other local artistes, and who?
Yes, of course. I would love to work with Wizkid and Tiwa Savage. But I also want to concentrate on my brand.
Do you think an upcoming artiste can succeed independently without a record label?
It is very difficult, but yes. An artiste can succeed with good material. However, having a support system can be of great help.
So, you would like to be signed by a supportive record label?
Of course yes, but I am not stressing over it.
How many songs have you recorded at the moment?
Quite a number of songs.
What are the titles?
It is still work in progress. Fans can only keep their fingers crossed. I love them. I won’t disappoint them. I appreciate all their support.
What will characterize your lyrics and music videos? Will you follow the norm, showy display of money, sex and booze?
I am different. My music will portray me.
Tell us what inspired you to go for Project Fame West Africa?
My wonderful mum inspired me to contest for it. I did it for her.
You included your Project Fame victory in your lyrics of Godwin by Korede Bello, why were you so sure?
I am sure my journey is divinely inspired. God definitely had a hand in my victory. Even now, I am more convinced that He will expedite things for me to keep succeeding.

Stephanie Coker is my celebrity crush.

You don’t mind the age difference?
No, at all! I don’t mind.
So, will you even like to marry her?
Yes, definitely! If she will agree to marry me, I would be very ecstatic.

No (Laughs).
Do you have a girlfriend at the moment?
No, I don’t (Laughs).
How are you handling fame, especially attention from female admirers?
I am handling it quite well. But I don’t want to be distracted. I want to focus solely on my music for now. As time goes by, every other thing will add up later.
What is your family background?
I’m the last child of three children, two boys and a girl. I am a native of Kogi State, Ibaji local government.
If not music, what other career path would you choose?
I don’t have any other option. It is music for me or nothing. After all, I am a sound engineer.
Describe your personal style?
I like to look comfortable. Anything that fits. Sometimes it might reflect how I feel.
What are you thankful for with this coming new year?
Becoming a millionaire and owning a brand new car. I believe greater things cometh.
