Top entertainers, African Rapper Number 1, MI, bumper to bumper crooner, Wande Coal and multi-talented duo of P-Square shook the city of Ibadan on Saturday night at the highly-rated Globacom music concert, the Glo Slide ‘n’ Bounce which took place at the Jogor Event Centre. The Ibadan show was the first in the series of the 11-city concert lined up for the entertainment of Nigerians by Globacom.
Those who attended the Slide n Bounce Ibadan edition anchored by the popular radio and TV presenter, Jimmy D Hypeman, said it will remain the talk of the town for a long time to come. All the artistes gave a superlative performance including the with the disc jockey for the day, DJ XGee.
From the start of the concert on Saturday evening to the early hours of Sunday, there was never a dull moment as the audience rocked and danced to the music dished out by the sensational Reekado Banks, African Rapper Number 1, MI, Wande Coal and P-Square.
Wande Coal was at his best with his latest work, A si ma peyin. He entertained the elated audience with a variety of songs from the old MoHit group and MI and P-Square demonstrated that they are all-rounder entertainers as they added drama sketches to their performances. Reekado Banks was also in his element at the show and was excellent in his delivery.
Speaking after the show, a female rapper who came second at the singing competition organized as one of the side attractions, Omotolani Ojo, said that she felt fulfilled coming to watch the concert.
“My joy goes beyond coming second at the singing competition. That Globacom can give me this huge platform to showcase my talent is a big plus, and I have no regret coming for this show. I had been looking forward to it and I am fulfilled tonight”, she said.
The night was not just for the already established stars that were lined up by Globacom to delight the people, but was also an opportunity for local and up and coming artistes in the city to advertise their talents.
Apart from well known stars , upcoming singers also performed during the night and made good impressions on the crowd. The duo of GAD and Sossi, both local artistes in Ibadan, thrilled the audience with above par performances to the acclaim of the guests who cheered them on.
The Slide ‘n’ Bounce train moves to Port Harcourt this Saturday where the best of the Nigerian artistes will entertain residents of the Garden City.
