Billionaire oil magnate, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, has condoled with families of all those that lost their loved ones on Thursday, December 24, 2015 in the monumental gas explosion that rocked Nnewi, Anambra State.
According to the Capital Oil & Gas Industries Limited boss, ‘It was with deep shock that we received the news of the explosion and ensuing fire that rocked Chikason Gas Plant in Nnewi on 24/12/2015, leading to the loss of valuable lives, as the people of Nnewi were already in a celebratory mood over the Ofala festival and the 90th birthday of HRH Igwe Orizu III, Igwe Nnewi.
‘This tragic news has filled our hearts with profound grief. Words may not suffice to express the heartfelt sympathy that we feel for the untimely loss of your loved ones, but please accept our deepest condolences for the irreparable loss. We pray that the good Lord bestows on the bereaved, the much needed peace and solace during this sad time.
‘May their gentle souls rest in the bosom of our Lord’, he prayed.
Ubah, like Chief Alexander Chika Okafor, the owner of the gas plant where many people lost their lives and property worth millions of Naira also got destroyed, plays big in the oil and gas sector. The owner of Ifeanyi Ubah Football Club equally hails from Nnewi like Okafor.
Nnewi was already agog for their king’s 90th birthday cum Ofala celebration when the unexpected happened; thus jolting the entire town and disrupting some of their earlier laid-down plans.
