Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has disclosed the government’s to construct a befitting park in honour of the 33 Imo indigenes who were involved in the June 3 Dana Air Crash in Lagos.
Okorocha revealed this at the Ahiajoku Convention Centre, Owerri, during the candle light memorial service for the victims.
He thereafter directed the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in the state to assemble all the Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) in the state to institute a legal action against the management of Dana Airline for what he called carelessness on their part.
He said: “I consider the fact that our state suffered the greatest loss of lives in the ill- fated plane crash very sad. It is unfortunate that negligence and carelessness of someone else has cost us the lives of our dear ones. Though no amount of compensation could represent the lives lost, we as a state must make sure that the airline pays heavily for their negligence.”
