Nigeria’s Mr. Fix It, Chief Tony Anenih, is not dead – and so said some insiders whom we just spoke with. In Lagos and Edo, the story, interestingly, is the same – contrary to the rumour that swirled all over the social media hours ago.
Born on August 4, 1933, Anenih served as the Works and Housing Minister under ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, and later Chairman, PDP Board of Trustees. Before those two, he worked with Late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe as his police orderly.
One of the insiders who pleaded anonymity, however, confided in us that all the renowned politico is battling is old age as well as those sicknesses associated with it.
High profile journalist and Ovation Magazine Publisher, Dele Momodu, has equally faulted the death rumour. Likewise Vanguard Newspapers whom Anenih told that he will only die when God decrees it. Again, that the name of hospital as well as the doctor whom the rumour peddlers claimed attended to him remain alien and unknown to him.
‘God is on the throne and it is only God that can call me when He believes that it is time.’
