Controversial businessmen, Jide Omokore and Kola Aluko, are sinking deeper and deeper into trouble.
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has just directed 19 banks which they are allegedly owing about $1.7 billion to take over their assets until they are able to liquidate the debt.
Omokore and Aluko are close allies to former Petroleum Minister, Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke and have repeatedly been alleged to some of the deals perpetrated during her tenure.
The $1, 762, 338, 284, 40 debt was for crude oil lifted under the strategic alliance agreement by the duo.
It would be recalled that the Federal Government of Nigeria alongside the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company Limited had sued Atlantic Energy Drilling Concepts Nigeria Limited and Atlantic Energy Brass Development Limited owned by the two men. And the man had been in court until this pronouncement.
