The Police Service Commission, headed by former IGP Mike Okiro, has just announced the retirement of Joseph Mbu and Tunji Ogunsakin.
Both men, alongside 19 others, were relieved of their duties on Friday, July 1, 2016 and following the elevation of Idris Ibrahim, a junior officer, to the position of Inspector General of Police by President Muhammadu Buhari days ago.
Mbu and Ogunsakin, it would be recalled, had turbulent and controversial reigns in Rivers State where they both served as Commissioners of Police and prior to their promotions to AIGs. The former practically had a cat and mouse relationship with the then Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi.
