Telecommunications giant, MTN is still adamant and insisting that it won’t pay the N780 billion fine slammed on them by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC.
The yellow-loving company got into NCC palaver by refusing to disconnect some unregistered SIM cards at the appropriated time. And following their mind blowing fine by the NCC as well as the drama that has continued to trail it, their Group CEO, Sifiso Dabengwa and the Nigerian MD, Michael Ikpoki alongside others, were made to resign.
MTN, according to NCC, had up to Friday, December 31, 2015 to pay the fine. But as you read this, not only have they refused to comply, they are also insisting that they will not.
Their reason? Well, they took NCC to court soon after the fine was announced and are now insisting that until the case is dispensed with, NCC should forget the N780 billion fine.
