Justice George Adesola Oguntade (JSC,RTD, CON, CFR) recently chatted with YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine’s AZUH LILIAN on why he went into education. This was during his school’s Speech and Prize Giving Ceremony. Enjoy…
How do you feel today?
I feel very happy because in my view, judgement and achievement, this is a school founded barely 3 years ago and it’s able to command such an interesting achievement.
What’s your dream for Neander International School?
My dream is to ensure that it is well managed, bigger than this and a great contributor to the cause of education in Nigeria. Not just Lagos State alone. But also sound education, I must confess.
When was the school founded?
It was founded 3 years ago.
What are the challenges so far?
Well, the challenges for a newly founded school almost invariably involves absence of knowledge to prospective parents who want to have their children there. We will have to take time to advertise and to let the public become aware of the existence of the school. That has been the major challenge, but we are overcoming that. Once people step in to conduct an assessment visit, they go round and see that we are following the highest standards in terms of facilities provided. So, we will overcome that initial problem.
In the next 5 years, where do you want Neander International School to be?
I did mention that we are working on the establishment of a university. So, my view is that in the next 2 years, I want it to be the best of schools available in terms of the behaviour of the students, level of their education and above all, in terms of recognition, along notable lines.
Thank you very much sir.
You are welcome.
