With pomp, the new Alagbara of Agbara, Oba Lukman Jayeola Agunbiade ascended the throne of his fore fathers, following the overwhelming support of his ruling house and the Yewa Traditional Council over the weekend.
Presenting the Staff and Instrument of Office, the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikune Amosun, who noted that the installation was the second in the Yewa Traditional Council in less than two weeks, enjoined sons and daughters of Agbara to give the monarch the needed support and cooperation require to move the community forward as it is one of the “fasted developing areas of the state.”
The governor, who was represented by the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Jide Ojuko , said “all hands must be on deck to pave way for continual and speedy development in this area.
“We all know that government alone cannot meet all the needs of the people, hence the need to embrace the spirit of communal efforts”, Amosun added.
In his acceptance speech, Oba Agunbiade expressed his gratitude to the governor, members of his cabinet, the Agbara Kingmakers, the ruling house as well as members of the community, noting that his ascension to the throne was divine.
He therefore implore all sons and daughters of Agbara to come together and make the community greater, adding that the time has come to provide the needed peace and tranquility that would pave way for the enabling environment needed for industrial and economic developments.
Oba Agunbiade, a chartered accountant and a lawyer as well as a qualified member of many professional bodies both at national and international levels, hails from the Olute Rulling House.
