Since the Osoba faction of the state APC pulled out to form the Action Group, many assumed the political warfare in the state chapter of the party would be buried and forgotten. How wrong! The major bone of contention now is the senatorial ticket for Ogun West where Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, a serving Federal House of Representatives member, representing Alimoso Federal Constituency in Lagos State and Ayo Olubori, the current Commissioner for Environment in the state, are locking horns. While it is generally believed that Ayo Olubori is acting the script of the Governor, Adeola, popularly called Yayi, is said to be undaunted in his bid to get the senatorial ticket. The feud between both parties turned violent when the Governor visited Ipokia LG during his assessment tour of local governments. It was said that scores of Yayi supporters were injured and attacked after the rally, which led to the palaver at Ilaro where two people were reportedly killed. 16 persons have been arrested by the police in connection to the fracas as both parties are still bent on seeing the confrontation to a conclusion. Meanwhile, information reaching GP has it that Olamilekan Solomon is the most popular of the two contenders, as he is said to be highly influential with deep pockets.
