One of the Ogun State government-owned model colleges yesterday resumed for academic activities in Akinale, Ewekoro Local Government Area, with Governor Ibikunle Amosun assuring that it will take the education standard in the state to higher level.
Amosun, who was represented by his Deputy, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga, while declaring the college open, charged the foundation students, staff and management to show not only a superlative performance but also imbibe higher sense of moral values.
The governor stated that the students would be given the best quality of education that would equip them to compete with other students all over the world, assuring the parents of adequate security for their children and wards.
In her welcome address, the state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Modupe Mujota said “this is the realisation of the vision conceived by Senator Ibikunle Amosun to transform the educational sector of the state.”
In his remark, Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Suraj Ishola Adekunbi said “what we are experiencing today is “promise made, promise kept”, admonishing the students to reciprocate the lofty vision of the government by being focused and dedicated to their studies as well as protect the infrastructure.
On his part, the Towulade of Akinale, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye appreciated Amosun and his cabinet members for the initiative, noting that the government has completely changed the template of his community.”
