The family of Oba Okunade Sijuwade has finally confirmed that he’s no more – after weeks of denial. Not only that, they have also fixed the burial of the late Ooni of Ife for Friday, August 14, 2015. Disclosing this hours ago was his first son, Prince Tokunbo Sijuwade and some members of the Ife Royal Traditional Council.
The first class traditional ruler, YES INTERNTIONAL! Magazine gathered, will be buried in a mausoleum inside the palace and beside his predecessor, Oba Adesoji Aderemi.
Meanwhile, late Oba Sijuwade’s family members have begun relocating and removing their personal effects from the palace which they occupied for over three decades.
His Royal Majesty, Oba Okunade Sijuwaade who died in a London hospital on July 28 will be flown home today, Thursday, August 13 and buried tomorrow, August 15, by 10am. His tomb and final resting place has since been sorted out. However, before his interment, an inter-denominational service will first follow. Likewise all the other burial rites.
