Pregnant woman dies in Lagos lagoon!
There was a tragic incident on Saturday, March 18, 2016 – a pregnant woman identified as Chinagorom Faustina – died inside the Lagos lagoon.
The sad incident occurred at Mekwen Bridge, near Bonny Camp, a military base, on Victoria Island, Lagos. And around 7.45pm.
Their car, a gray KIA Rio, with registration number MUS 38 BL, went off the road, hit and broke the not-too-strong railings and then plunged into the lagoon.
The driver, Felix Aniele, managed to swim out of the lagoon, but his madam was not. She died alongside the baby in her womb!
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency officials arrived the scene not long after, assisting with rescue operations. The recovered car was later moved to the Bar Beach police station and the remains of the woman deposited at the Mainland General Hospital mortuary, in Yaba.
Overspeeding and dozing off due to tiredness were being discussed on the scene as the likely causes.
