PROTOCOL!
I am delighted to join the Publisher in welcoming you all to this Lecture which has been put together to mark the fifth anniversary of the YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine. This is the fifth in the series of this Annual Lecture. I thank organisers for considering me worthy as Chairman of today’s event.
Five years in the life of a publication is worthy of celebration. I am aware of the intensity of competition in the print media; therefore, sustaining a publication for five years deserves commendation. The mortality rate in the print media industry is very high. I therefore congratulate the Publisher and his team for coming this far. I know that it has not been easy. It is also remarkable that a lecture series has been instituted to mark the anniversary. This offers a platform for an annual intellectual discourse on entrepreneurship issues, the outcome of which will surely be beneficial to the economy and society.
As with previous editions, the focus of the lecture is on entrepreneurship and business. Our Guest Speaker will be addressing us on issues of business sustainability and will be sharing his experience in this context as well. The topic is Running A Success Business In Nigeria: My Experience.
Let me at this stage appreciate our Guest Speaker, Dr. Gabriel Ogbechie, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Rainoil Limited for accepting to make this presentation. I am sure his lecture will be thought-provoking, given his wealth of experience in wealth creation.
Clearly, the way to make progress in this economy is to promote entrepreneurship across all sectors of our economy. Nigerians are generally very enterprising people and with an enabling environment, a great deal of transformation will take place in our economy. I urge you all to listen carefully to him so that we can have a robust engagement thereafter.
Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, I thank you for your attention and please enjoy the lecture.
