In our last edition, we offered you a glimpse and a peep into some of the things to expect at the 3RD YES INTERNATIONAL! ANNUAL LECTURE SERIES/COCKTAIL PARTY. Today, we want to share more ‘info’ with you…
THE HOST: Our host for the day is Prince Bisi Olatilo, the good man we the younger ones enjoy addressing as Uncle B. Ever ready to do this for us, please don’t get tired of appreciating him – just like we also do at our own end, here. And to add to that, God will forever bless Uncle B, the Chairman of Biscom Communications and creator of the well known and loved Bisi Olatilo Show.
THE MASTER OF CEREMONIES: For a change, our MC this year will be Gbenga Adeyinka 1st. The cerebral comedian whose career has been on an upward cruise and swing has been busy working on his armour and arsenals for the day. And you should believe us when we say that the hyper active rib cracker will blow your mind.
OPENING PRAYER AND NATIONAL ANTHEM: The General Overseer of Revival Assembly Church (in Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos), Apostle Anselm Madubuko will handle the opening prayer – and like he’s assured us, there’s going to be a new anointing once he’s done with that. For the National Anthem, admirable crooner, Essence will be in charge and we all know what the Kennis Music act is always capable of doing.
THE UNVEILING OF YES CLASSIC!: This has become an annual ritual. And the assignment this year has been zoned to the MD of The Sun Newspapers and President of Nigerian Guild of Editors, Mr. Femi Adesina. YES CLASSICS!, in case you are wondering, is actually a compilation of our best interviews for the year under review and it always comes in an all-colour, no-gossip, no-scandal format. Well planned, beautiful, life-enriching and more. Ensure you grab a copy that day before you leave. It’s only N500.
A WORD FOR YES INTERNATIONAL!: Friends and well wishers have always supported us – which we don’t take for granted. We also depend on them sometimes to know where and where we can improve on. This year, we shall be taking remarks from HRM Oba Adedokun Abolarin, Orangun of Oke-Ila; Barrister James Okpara, Abia State Commissioner for Special Services, Legal Matters and Due Process; Dr. Muiz Banire, former Lagos State Commissioner for The Environment and National Legal Adviser, All Progressives Congress; Mr. Seye Kehinde, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, City People Magazine; Barrister Monday Ubani, Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, Ikeja Branch; Mr. Toni Kan, award winning writer and Managing Partner, Radi 8 and Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ganiyu Solomon…
THE CUTTING OF ANNIVERSARY CAKE: This will be a collective assignment. All the people present will partake in it. Not only that, they will also have a bite of the special cake which the baker has already started gathering the ingredients and ‘condiments’ needed to ‘cook’ it.
MUSICAL PERFORMANCE: The day is not going to be all about talk, talk, talk. There will also be music to enliven the atmosphere – and on the bandstand will be the king of gospel music in Nigeria, Sammie Okposo and his X-Generation Band. The Wellu-Wellu master is an old hand in the business and so we all know what to expect. He will be ably supported by other younger acts.
THE CLOSING PRAYER: Of course, since there’s an opening prayer, there must be a closing one. The assignment will be handled by one of the firebrand Catholic priests that we know – Rev. Fr. Bernard Oleru, MSP. Father Bernard, like he’s widely known, is the Director of Promotions, Missionaries of Saint Paul.
ITEM SEVEN: Very, very important. And because of the measure of importance we attach to this, nothing will be spared to pamper you to your satisfaction. As a matter of fact, we have all the best hands in that sector to take wonderful and extraordinary care of you and your stomachs. La Bash will be supplying all the cocktail; Adedaas – all the small chops; Blessed Water – all the water you need to quench your taste; Dangote – all the non-alcoholic beverages; Inter-continental Distillers – some of the harder ones. There will also be red wine, champagne and so on for those who prefer that.
OUR GOODIE BAG: We have one for each person. So, remember to collect yours once you are done with your registration at the entrance. The content? Haba! You should find out on your own.
WHY YOU MUST NOT MISS THE EVENT: Because your knowledge ante will be upped by our Guest Speaker, a renowned economist and MD of Financial Derivatives Company Limited, Mr. Bismarck Rewane; the networking opportunity it provides is immense; the fun we normally distribute and dispense is immeasurable; hooking up with lost friends and acquaintances is also not to be forgotten. We can go on and on, but the truth remains that you just have to be there.
INVITATION CARDS AND LETTERS MUST HAVE REACHED YOU: Well, that’s what we think. But in case you have not seen yours – our colourful red and white card with our letter intimating you of our desire to have you as one of our special guests on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, from 11am – then you may need to call these numbers: 08033062157 or 08023002092 or even send an email to [email protected]. Our courier partners, Tranex has been racing here and there to drop the letters and invitation cards – and we know that soon; very, very soon, they will get to you.
Lastly, we urge you to continue to remember YES INTERNATIONAL!’s 3RD ANNUAL LECTURE SERIES/COCKTAIL PARTY in your prayers.
Thank you and thank you and thank you.
