Traditional rulers from Kwara North Senatorial District have endorsed the State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, because of his various people-oriented developmental programmes, especially in their zone, with a pledge to continue their support for the government in nurturing the state through growth and development.
The traditional rulers, led by Etsu Patigi and vice chairman of Kwara State Traditional Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Chatta Umar, announced their endorsement when they paid a congratulatory visit to Governor Ahmed at the Government House in Ilorin over his recent awards, both at home and in far away France.
Speaking on behalf of other traditional rulers from the zone, Alhaji Chatta Umar commended Governor Ahmed for his numerous achievements in the areas of health, education and youth empowerment.
Alhaji Umar also appreciated the Governor for appointing appreciable number of people from the Senatorial District into his government. The traditional rulers prayed God to grant the Governor success in the 2015 elections so that he could deepen the delivery of democratic dividends in the state.
Responding, Governor Ahmed, who attributed the success of his administration to the support given it by traditional rulers in the state, promised to strengthen existing relationship between the two institutions with a view to addressing issues relating to youth, women and children.
He equally assured the Kwara North traditional rulers that work would commence on the Kishi-Kaiama and Ilesha Baruba-Gwanara roads to ease the transportation challenges confronting the people of the areas and solicited the support of all traditional rulers in the state in creating an enabling environment for socio-economic activities to thrive.
