A big tragedy has just befallen the Lions Clubs International, District 404 A1, in Nigeria. Their President, Dr. Dada Isaac Olusola, MFR, PMIF, NLCF, just died. He gave up the ghost on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, soon after alighting from an Emirates aircraft at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos.
He had arrived from the United States of America (Chicago specifically where he had attended a Lions international conference) aboard an Emirates flight, EK783 (DXB) and with passport number A04501199 around 3.55pm, in high spirits and looking forward to his installation/presentation ceremony on July 30, said a source to YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine.
At about 4.18pm, however, he slumped at the screening point and was immediately rushed to the Airport Clinic. And at exactly 5.34pm, he was certified dead by Dr. Abdullahi of the Lagos Airport Clinic. Thus, throwing his wife who was with him and other members of the Lion Club with whom he had equally travelled into utter confusion and profound mourning.
Though unconfirmed, cardiac arrest has been touted as one of the likely causes of his shocking death.
Described by some of those who knew him as a jolly good fellow, his presentation ceremony had been slated for Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the Shell Hall of Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos. Nearly all arrangements had been concluded for the grand event with invitation cards already sent out. And now this monumental tragedy!
His remains have been deposited in the morgue, with the burial details still being worked out.
