As part of its countdown to the inaugural edition of the CVL Economic Growth Sector Celebration series, Prof. Pat Utomi’s Centre for Values in Leadership (CVL) organized a breakfast meeting with corporate stakeholders in Nigeria, on Friday, August 15, 2014, at the CVL Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. Among those who were briefed on CVL’s plan to honour the leadership strengths that aided the ascendancy of which contributed to the GDP of Nigeria becoming Africa’s largest economy were representatives of such companies as Etisalat, IBM and Coscharis. At the meeting, Utomi highlighted the motivation behind the sector’s celebration initiative and stated that the inaugural edition will celebrate the milestone achieved by the ICT sector in Nigeria’s economic growth. Subsequent editions will celebrate the entertainment and agriculture sectors, amongst others. He also called for partnership from organizations.
The goal of the CVL Economic Growth Sector Celebration series is to recognize, showcase and celebrate how leadership in the sector brought it to the fore of contributing to the growth of the Nigerian economy. As well as, to recognize some distinguished individuals and corporations pivotal to the growth of that sector. It is expected that this will inspire the younger generation to do better in sustaining the growth of our economy. Speaking at the meeting, ISPN President, Chris Uwaje, described the initiative as laudable because it provides a platform to recognize sector trailblazers who are responsible for the accelerated growth of the Nigerian economy.
The inaugural edition celebrating the ICT sector will hold on Friday, September 26, 2014.
