It was indeed a night of fun, music, drinks and networking on Monday, September 30, 2013, at Coral Reef Hall and Gardens, 10A, Ikeja Avenue, off Mcpherson Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos as Cocktail In and Out staged an appreciation party for their customers and the prospective ones. After the party, Mrs. Funke Awobokun, the Chief Mixologist of the company, told us her reason.
Who is behind Cocktail In and Out?
My name is Funke Awobokun. I’m the Chief Mixologist Officer for Cocktail In and Out. A mobile cocktail outfit where services are brought to your door steps. We activate celebrations, parties, events and others with the best of cocktail that you can imagine.
You have staged two appreciation parties in Abuja and Lagos. What is the motive behind that?
It is just to say thank you. We have been in existence for about nine years now and we decided to start the appreciation party this year. It was just something that came to my mind to show our appreciation to some of our loyal customers because without them, we won’t be here. It is also meant to showcase our products and services.
What brought about the idea of Cocktail In and Out in the first place?
It started at my children’s dedication. I’m one of those people that like unique stuffs and I thought why the regular soft drinks? So, I tried to mix some fruits and from there I got my first job and jobs started flowing in. So, it has become a passion for me. I enjoy doing it and that made me to do more research and train myself in the art of making cocktail. So, now, I’m a certified mixologist. I had trainings in South Africa, UK and the USA.
What must someone do to be successful in this line of business?
You have to be passionate about it because it’s not an easy job at all. You have to be a very friendly person, be patient and enjoy it.
What distinguishes Cocktail In and Out ?
Our presentation is like none and we don’t cut corners. We don’t cheat. We are taking cocktail presentation to another level which no one has seen before in the country, but it is still under wraps.
What gives you joy about being an event planner?
The people I have met. Some of them have practically turned to my family members. I’ve made a lot of friends. I’ve been able to make money from the business I’m doing just as my passion.
You have undoubtedly achieved a lot. What else do you want from Cocktail In and Out?
I still want a lot. I want the company to grow more. We are planning Cocktail In and Out outfit in Warri, Delta State, just like we have it in Abuja. I want to do more when it comes to hospitality.
