Ogun State Government says it will leave no stone unturned at ensuring prompt payment of workers’ salaries, benefits and pensions of retired officers.
The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief Adedayo Adeneye, gave this assurance while featuring on a television programme in Lagos.
Adeneye said despite the ‘paucity of funds’ which had become a national phenomenon, the present administration, led by Senator Ibikunle Amosun, had lived up to expectations by paying its workers’ salaries promptly in the State.
‘’Ogun State Government was the second in the Federation to pay December salary with 10% bonus before Christmas. Government takes workers’ welfare as priority and that is why it has done the needful so that its workers will have a joyous celebration this Yuletide season’’, he said.
The Commissioner added that the Ogun State Government was very much aware of the immense contribution of its workers towards the development of the State, saying that it would not in any way undermine their efforts, but would continue to improve on their welfare.
He, however, called on the entire State workers to support and cooperate with the present administration so as to achieve its Mission to Rebuild agenda.
