As reported few weeks ago, Chief Bode Mustapha, the Bobagunwa of Egbaland, has lost out in the APC senatorial race to Prince Lanre Tejuoso. Mustapha, who was said to have been given the nod to contest the Ogun Central senatorial seat by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, had spent quite a lot to actualize his aspiration. Several billboards spread across the whole senatorial district, empowerment programmes and a lot of other political activities were embarked upon. Close aides to BM, as popularly referred to, told GP that he has left the state APC with his teeming supporters and is considering pitching his tent with Aremo Segun Osoba’s Social Democratic Party; a case of chicken going home to roost. Our source said Chief Mustapha will still contest in 2015, but PDP is not an option. He hinted that BM is highly distraught and will also do all within his power to ensure the APC will lose out, come 2015.
