In spite of APC’s triumph at the just concluded governorship election in Kogi State, late Abubakar Audu’s running mate, James Faleke, has again sounded it loud and clear that he can never work with the Governor-elect, Yahaya Bello, as his deputy!
In a meeting with APC stakeholders in Kogi West, Faleke who is already in court to contest his exclusion as Audu’s successor, is insisting that not only is he forging ahead with the court case, he also won’t be available on January 27, 2016 to be sworn in with Bello as the new helmsmen of the State.
He poured out his mind to them on Monday, December 7. Insisting that he will be disappointing late Audu by working with Bello. Again, that nobody consulted him before lumping him and Bello together.
Faleke, it would be recalled, was on his way to taking over the mantle of leadership in Kogi State, alongside Audu. Then Audu died suddenly, altering their plans. Many had thought that he would continue from where Audu stopped. But his party instead chose Bello, the man who came second in the governorship primaries. Feeling very, very bad, Faleke went to court. But even now that a supplementary election had been done, with APC ousting PDP’s Idris Wada, the man is still fighting and insisting that he can’t work with Bello.
