The Red devils took a loss on Sunday at Etihad Stadium at the Manchester Derby as Manchester City edged out winning the match 3-1. For United the loss means that they are now 12 points ahead Cardiff City which is currently in the 18th placed. Seemingly unbothered by the outcome of the match, Jose Mourinho, manager of Manchester United, joked at the press conference about his team possibly ending up in the Premier League’s bottom three.
Responding to the loss soon after, here’s what the Manchester United Gaffa had to say: ‘I consider the performance to be one with mistakes, it’s different to a bad performance. We were punished, but the performance, mentality, togetherness, belief, fighting until the end, is something we are building. We won’t lose that because of a defeat.’
The Red Devils and their rivals, Manchester City, played an intense match which kicked off with an early goal for Man City in the twelfth minute of the game. City scored another goal in by Sergio Aguero in the 48th minute which was followed a couple minutes later by United’s first goal for the night.
The goal was delivered by United’s forward, Anthony Martial in the 58th minute. İlkay Gündoğan certified City’s win in the 86th minute.
Fan of Man United and Chief Customer Officer,MultiChoice Nigeria, Martin Mabutho had this to say about his team’s loss ‘While the team played a splendid game, it was just not in the cards for us to win. I trust that with the guidance of Mourinho, we will make the top 4.’
