Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has commended the peaceful conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly polls, held in Ogun State yesterday.
Amosun however noted complaints of non functional card readers in some areas, while answering questions from newsmen, after casting his vote at Itagbangba polling unit 008, in Itoko ward 06, Abeokuta South Local Government Area of the state.
On insufficient ballot papers in some polling units, the governor said, “I am sure INEC will look into the area of shortage of ballot papers.”
The governor, who aknowleged that the election process is tasking and slow, said, “imagine a presiding officer having to sign all the three election ballot papers.”
Amosun and his wife, Olufunso, arrived the polling unit at exactly 10:45am and cast their votes at 12:05pm.
Confident of winning at the polls, the governor said if everything goes on smoothly, people will take the outcome of the election in good faith.
The polling unit, which experienced a large turn out of voters, election observers, party agents, INEC officials, journalists and security operatives, was hitch free.
