Speakership: Gbajabiamila ‘Begs’ Bago To Step Down

As the race over who leads the 9th House of Representatives hots up between Femi Gbajabiamila and Mohammed Bago, both of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, deft political moves are daily being deployed to convince the latter to step down for the former.
The latest move was made by Abdumumin Jibrin, who is Gbajabiamila’s campaign director.
In his words: ‘Today in my capacity as DG of our campaign council, I visited my bosom friend Hon Mohd Bago in continuation of our lobby and consultation. We will continue to engage.

Ealier, we addressed a press conference on the state of our campaign attended by some returning and new members elect.’
The outcome of their discussion, however, wasn’t made public. Although, Gbajabiamila, from Lagos State, is believed to be enjoying the support of APC’s three musketeers – President Muhammadu Buhari, the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole and National Leader, Bola Tinubu. Unlike Bago, from Niger State.
Both Bago and Gbajabiamila are experienced legislators, having been in the House of Representatives for more than a term.
