Popori crooner, Queen Ure Okezie, is bereaved.
The former banker and ex wife of soulful singer, Soul E, just lost her mother.
Below, and unedited, is how she broke the sad news on FB: ‘Mumsi has gone to be with the Lord! I’ve been crying since Monday but I’m drying my tears and coming to terms with the reality. This photo was taken on the 12th of May just before she left with my brother to the airport to return to Umuahia. I’ve been with her for the past 4 months, in the hospital for 2 months and at home for about 2 months, bathing her, feeding her and looking after her, these four months have been the best times of my life, I’ve been really happy as her daughter, nurse and friend. All these while she kept saying she wanted to go back home ( Umuahia), everyday she’ll wake up and say she wants to go back home, last Sunday we decided to let her go back and also made arrangements for her to be well taken care of. Barely a week after she went home, 2 days ago, she passed on. I feel really bad, we shouldn’t have let her go, she would have still been here if she was with us. I’m grateful to God though for making it possible for me to share her last days with her. A very very peaceful and content woman. Mummy, I’ll really miss you.’
