The social media is literally on fire – and the reason is no other than the photo of the newly-elected Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, kneeling to greet President Muhammadu Buhari barely hours after his election.
Omo-Agege, a Member of the All Progressives Congress and in full Niger Delta attire, was at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, with the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan, to see Buhari and also express their appreciation for his contribution to their emergence.
However, in one of the photographs posted on the Official Twitter handle of the Presidency: @AsoRock, the controversial representative of Delta Central Senatorial District who unconfirmed reports allege was in the know of the Senate mace drama in the 8th Assembly was seen kneeling down to greet the President.
The Twitter handle said: “Last night, President @MBuhari received newly elected Senate President Lawan Ahmed and newly elected Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, at the Residence State House in Abuja. They were accompanied by few other Senators.”
Expectedly, the social media has not stopped buzzing since then. With some saluting his humility and other lampooning his action, describing it as sycophantic.
