It was a night of glitz, glamour and excellence at the 2019 edition of the Marketing Edge Brands and Advertising Excellence Awards. The event took place on Wednesday, June 26 2019 at Balmoral Event Centre Oregun, Lagos and had many top industry professionals in attendance. Everyone from corporate CEOs, professionals in public relations, marketing, advertising and the entire integrated marketing sector.
MTV Base took home the award for “Music Channel of the Year”. Speaking on the well-deserved win was Solafunmi Oyeneye, VIMNA Senior Channels Manager. Here is what she said:
“The MTV Base team is a collective of professionals who work around the clock to ensure that we create and consistently churn out top notch content, so to be acknowledged and honoured on a platform as reputable as Marketing Edge is a big deal to us. The award, organized by Marketing Edge Magazine, has become synonymous with celebrating the best and exemplary innovative minds in the marketing industry. Every edition of the award is accompanied with a thought provoking theme and this year was no different.
The theme for this year’s award show was “Storytelling as a New Paradigm Shift in Contemporary Brand Building Convergence of Creativity and Technology”. Starting things off at the event was a keynote address delivered by Professor Sir Chris Ogbechie, the senior faculty officer at Lagos Business School, who is also an APCON fellow.
