Corruption, Bane Of SME’s In Nigeria- Magu


The acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has decried the high level of corruption in the management of funds earmarked by government and foreign donor agencies for the Small and Medium Enterprises, SMEs, over the years.

Magu made the observation in Enugu on Monday, November 18, 2019 through the Enugu Zonal Head, Usman Iman, at an Anti-corruption Situation Room (ACSR) organised by Human Environment Agenda (HEDA). The programme has the Theme: “Corruption Trends in the Management of Financial and Non Financial Supports Designed For Small Businesses; Exploring the Effects of Corruptionon SMEs as an Impediment to Economic Growth; An Evaluation of South Eastern States”.

According to him, despite billions of naira budgeted and disbursed, not much has been achieved in terms of economic growth and social well-being of Nigerians.
