The beautiful city of London is currently agog. And the reason, YES INTERNATIONAL! Magazine learnt, is simple: one of Nigeria’s most talented comedians, Julius ‘De Genius’ Agwu, is set to host another edition of his annual comedy show, Crack Ya Ribs.
Slated for Sunday, August 25, 2019 (Carnival Bank Holiday Weekend), at The Lighthouse Hall, Camberwell Road, the likes of Okey Bakassi, Seyi Law, Funny Bone, Senator, Nedu of Wazobia, Destalker, MC Wyze, Magnito and others are all going to be there to dole out maximum fun to the London crowd.
The show, according to Richie John Onaiwu, CEO of RichieRich Entertainment UK, who is overseeing it, starts at exactly 7pm. But the doors would have been opened from 6pm.
He added that anyone in London for summer must attend the talk-of-the-town show because “life is indeed what you make it. Therefore, you must nourish yourself with spontaneous laughter and uncontrollable giggles…”
Commenting on the show which is happening tomorrow, Julius, the pioneer of ‘musicomedy’, a combination of music and comedy, added that “the evening promises to be unforgettable. Anyone who misses it is going to be missing a lot. As a matter of fact, we have loads and loads of surprises lined up for all those coming. And I am using this medium to specially invite everyone.”
Agwu, from Choba, Rivers State, it would also be recalled, was among the first set of entertainment practitioners to export Nigerian comedy to London. And for over a decade now, he’s been doing that without fail. A tradition, he told us, will be sustained for as long as the Lord permits.
