For those who do not know, Jubril Ayinla is an erstwhile Chief of Naval Staff. One of the earliest dwellers in Lekki, Lagos, the most popular street in the area is even named after him – that is, Admiralty Way. As a matter of fact, the street terminates opposite the house of the retired Admiral. I was in Lekki days back and observed that the man has a morning regime he doesn’t joke with. What he normally does first thing every morning is to pray, then exercise (by moving around his intimidating compound), plan his day, eat and any other thing can follow. Whenever time permits also, the father and grandfather equally keeps himself fit with the game of lawn tennis. By the way, he enjoys driving himself on weekends and even goes to the Falomo, Ikoyi, Lagos post office unaccompanied on Sundays to pick up his letters.
