In his 50s, he had gone for a kidney transplant years ago in India. Upon his return, he became a link person between himself and others who were also suffering the ailment.
One of those that pioneered Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, he also had a number of programmes back then on the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA.
