After 13 weeks of intense competition and voting by teeming viewers, mother of Ghanaian actor and tailor, Elikem Kumordzie, Madam Victoria Jiagge, has emerged winner of the Supermom Ghana Reality TV Show “Celebrity Edition”. Madam Victoria Jiagge beat Madam Ruby Allen, mother of Bella Adadey and Miss Malaika and Madam Matilda Afua Johnson, mother of another actor, Kofi Adjololo, to first and second runners up positions respectively. Madam Jiagge won for herself Ten Thousand Ghana Cedies and a free shopping trip to Dubai while Mrs. Ruby Allen, first runner up, won Six Thousand Ghana Cedies and a free shopping trip to Dubai. Mrs. Matilda Afua Johnson, who emerged second runner up, also won for herself a free shopping trip to Dubai and Four Thousand Ghana Cedies. The show which was the first of its kind in the Gold Coast of Ghana had mothers of 20 Ghanaian celebrities sharing their stories of emotional sacrifices for their super star children and was broadcast on top TV stations like Ghana Metro TV, Ghone TV, Afrostar and GTV. The show which had been running consistently before berthing in Ghana with the celebrity edition was sponsored by Procter and Gamble (P&G), makers of top house hold family brands like Ariel and Oral B and other sponsors in Ghana like Geisha, Royal Feast and Indomie. Created by Digital Interactive Media Limited and aimed at celebrating African mothers of all socio-economic class for their unflinching love and uncompromising care for their children, it features the most emotional stories ever told on television for viewer’s enjoyment, participation and entertainment. The reality show started in Nigeria in 2010.
