Honourable Oladipupo Adebutu, Member, House of Representatives representing (Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency) has described the death of former Minister for Transport, Chief Ojo Maduekwe, as a great loss to the nation.
In his condolence message on the passing on of the great politician and former National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Honourable Adebutu said the late Chief Maduekwe had served the nation in various capacities. As the Minister for Foreign Affairs, he made us proud in the comity of nations while he fathered our cultural heritage as the Minister of Culture and Tourism. In all, he acquitted himself greatly as a patriot whom we are all proud of.
He described the elder statesman who also was the Deputy Director of the Jonathan/Sambo Presidential Campaign in 2011 as a loyal party man whose contribution to the growth of democracy in Nigeria is immeasurable.
“Nigerians, and especially members of the Peoples Democratic Party, will greatly miss the invaluable contribution of Chief Maduekwe who was one of the elder statesmen the party was looking up to as it navigates towards its renaissance in 2019”.
Honourable Adebutu expresses his condolences to members of his immediate family, all Nigerians and his PDP political family at the sudden demise of the late politician, praying that God grants him eternal rest, and also grants the family the needed courage and fortitude to bear the irreplacable loss.
