Barely six months after the death of popular gospel singer, Tope Alabi’s spiritual father, Prophet Ireti Ajanaku (of Christ Victory Chapel International in Ayobo-Ipaja, Lagos State), the controversial crooner has found another spiritual father in Prophet Adebisi Abiola, the founder and General Overseer of Christ Miracle Church Mission (in Ojodu, Lagos). Tope Alabi was on Sunday, January 26, 2014 presented to the over 1,000 church members at the headquarters of the church on Iyanasuna Street, off Akiode, Isheri Road, Ojodu-Berger, Lagos by the G.O himself. The G.O even brought her to the altar and urged his teeming members to forget all they may have heard or read about the singer from different quarters and accept her as a genuine minister of God who is preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ through music.
Prophet Adebisi said: “Evangelist Tope Alabi has been unjustly dealt with in the media which has made it difficult for her to do more and achieve more than she has achieved over the years. I therefore urge you all to support and accept her as a true servant of God”. The beautiful singer also seized the opportunity to give a testimony about how difficult 2013 was for her. According to her: “2013 was a year I will never forget. It was indeed a very difficult year for me. There was a direct prophecy for me that I was going to die that year, but along with my husband, we prayed to God to avert it and we decided to do a praise concert unto the Lord. It was so unfortunate that after the concert, three people died, but I’m still alive. That was why I vowed that February 16th of every year, I will be doing a praise concert to praise God and also honour the memory of the departed souls and this year’s would be on February 16, 2014 at the blue roof of LTV 8, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos State”. She thereafter sang about three of her soul-inspiring songs which the congregation couldn’t help but dance to. Some had even begun recording them on their phones, but the ushers quickly intervened, stopping them from continuing.
The singer whose relationship with her late spiritual father came to a very sad end in late 2013 over issues bordering on alleged infidelity on the part of the lady, with the late Ajanaku accusing her of even trying to seduce him, had been lying low since the man’s death. However, she has now found another spiritual father in Ondo State born Prophet Abiola, who did not only mandate his congregation to be at the February 16th event, but also assured Tope that he will be there personally.
