Suspected 419 kingpin, Chief Barrister Fred Chijindu Ajudua, was on Thursday, May 26, 2016 re-arraigned before Justice K.A Jose of the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja – after a long absence from the news.
The plaintiff, EFCC, slammed a 28-count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining by false pretence on him.
Ajudua allegedly perpetrated the act alongside another socialite, Adedeji Alumile, aka Ade Bendel, said to be at large; Mr. Kenneth, Mr. Jonathan and Princess Amabong Williams, also at large.
Their alleged victim, former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Musa Bamaiyi, reportedly lost one million Dollars in the process. The money, they had told the man then, was to facilitate his release from prison. After onward transfer to legal luminary, Chief Afe Babalola, SAN.
Ajudua, who holds the title of Onwa of Ibusa, in Delta State, pleaded not guilty to the charge. Subsequently, the matter was adjourned to September 15, 20, 21and 22, 2016 for trial.
Married to Princess, and blessed with just one son, Bobo, Ajudua and Ade Bendel have always been linked to alleged 419 scams. However, no court of competent jurisdiction has been able to convict them yet.
