The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has appointed the presenter of
Nigeria’s “hottest debate show on TV” (The Big Issue) as Director of News
at the state-owned television station (LTV).
Insiders at TVC say the presenter who is also one of the strongest
correspondents there tendered his resignation on Monday, February 8 and is
expected to resume at LTV anytime soon.
Oba Adeoye, a graduate of Mass Communication, joined TVC after a stint with
Nigeria’s first 24-hour news channel, NN24 as part of the pioneer staff.
He was also at Daily Independent Newspaper after leaving Alimosho Times
Newspaper as Editor. The man, who also anchors STANDPOINT on TVC, started
his television career at Multi-Cable TV (MCTV), Ikeja some years ago.
There are fears that his popular programme, THE BIG ISSUE may die a natural death
after his exit from TVC.
