The drama that characterized the 2016 Budget finally came to an end today, Friday, May 6, 2016 as President Muhammadu Buhari just appended his signature to it.
Reducing the total budget from the initial N6.07 trillion to N6.06 trillion, N351 billion went to statutory transfers; N1.4 trillion to debt service; N2.6 trillion to recurrent expenses and N1.5 trillion to capital expenditure.
For months on end now, The Presidency and the National Assembly, it would be recalled, had been going back and forth on the Budget. But now that the matter has been resolved, following a series of high wired meetings held recently, many are of the view that the Nigerian ship will now sail faster.
